The Brush

These first posts are mostly to share with you some influences and let you know where I’m from artistically.  Mucha is one of the reasons I got back into illustration and graphic arts. His line work and the atmospheric quality of his posters leaves you with the perfect mix of dream and story.

Another biggie is Hokusai. I created a 7 foot three-dimensional version of his ‘Great Wave’ in my living room a few years ago, which I’ll post eventually. In creating this site, I did an homage to his climbing ninja (below) and put a brush in his scabbard in place of his sword for the homepage.
